It’s Play Time in Glasgow!

After some months of no action, I’m currently involved with the design of a website for a charity in Scotland as a volunteer through IT4Communities.org.uk

Glasgow Play-Resource Association and I are designing their first website to show off their wares so to speak. They provide support and training to over 500 local play groups, as well as training facilities and a ‘scrap store’

The website is at http://www.glasgowplay.org.uk and is based on WordPress the open source (i.e. FREE) blog/content management system which suits their needs to update easily and engage the community in discussions perfectly.

News that HP have slashed the prices of their ‘to be discontinued’ HP Touchpad have lit up sales across the USA and Canada as ‘Best Buy’ has a fire sale.
Prices drop from $499 to only $99 for the 16 Gb model, and from $599 to only $149 for the 32Gb version.
Needless to say, they sold out rather quickly as word got round!

Just this morning I received an alert from Google to confirm that ‘Harvey Norman’ the sole distributor in Australia has started their fire sale at price points similar to the USA.

I can’t wait for this to start in the UK, currently website retailers are still advertising the Touchpad for ‘pre-sale’ prices at the likes of Amazon, Tesco, PC World and Curry’s.

Think I may just pop down to PC World this morning, just in case…
